Appointments

diary_appointmentYou may consult any of the doctors. Some appointments can be pre-booked by calling 01753 520680, this should be done after 10:00.

For appointments the same day we operate a “book on day” system, this means that on the day you want the appointment you phone our appointment line at 08:00 to make an appointment for that day.

Please remember an appointment is for one person.

The reception staff are members of the practice team and it has been agreed they should ask patients ‘why they need to be seen’. Reception staff are trained to ask certain questions in order to ensure that you receive the most appropriate care, from the most appropriate health professional at the most appropriate time.

On a Monday mornings the telephone is extremely busy. Please consider phoning on a different day for a routine appointment.

Extended Hours

For those people that are unable to get to the surgery in normal working hours we do have early and late surgeries as well as weekends (subject to availability).  Appointments for these are always booked in advance and are for routine problems – we cannot see emergencies in these clinics.

Patient Choice

Please tell the receptionist if you wish to see a particular doctor otherwise you will be offered the first available appointment with any one of the doctors. We will always try and accommodate you but please understand that sometimes it may be necessary to wait longer for an appointment with a particular doctor.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. The practice reserves the right to remove a patient from the practice list if they waste more than two appointments in a twelve month period.
